A Sublime Sensitivity
Day 5 Nature Series.
“The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanely sensitive. To them… a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create — so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, their very breath is cut off…They must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency they are not really alive unless they are creating.”
– Pearl S. Buck
Dear Sensitive Soul,
Your sensitivity is a gift. A gift to see the world more clearly. With all its stark shades and mellow nuances apparent to only you.
Your sensitivity allows you rare glimpses into the deep mysteries of life. It is a pearl. Nurture it tenderly within the secret chambers of your heart.
Your sensitivity will make you weep when nobody else is. It will make you shiver and shake and tremble. It will make you penetrate life with all your heart and soul and mind.
It will turn kindness into deep throbbing compassion. Anger into justice. Truth into fearlessness. Do not dismiss it lightly or scornfully. Neither allow others to trample callously upon it.
Your sensitivity that looks so delicate and so gentle masks a hidden well of tenacity and bravery.
Perhaps all your life you have been bewildered by its strange presence. It gave you powers that no one else seemed to have.
Become well acquainted with this beautiful life-long friend. It is a sentinel to your heart. Become joyful with its presence.
And fill this worn-out broken world with the gifts of your sensitivity. Until all harshness is erased. Until all aggression fade.
And with your thoughts, and your heart and all that may flow through you transform this world into a vibrant, sublime, gentle garden.
With so much love from my heart to yours. Sharon x
p.s. Don’t be afraid to let your sensitive soul shine today!

Sharon’s post says and explains so much.
With Love,
Russ
My dear, kind Russ, do you know that your heart shines in so many beautiful ways it is a gift itself to me? Thank you always. Sharon
Sharon, this spoke volumes to me today as I have a very sensitive child and I think I understand his soul better after reading this. I wish all our sensitive souls will indeed transform this world we live in, and in time every act will be of love and consideration. Wishing you blue skies and long lazy days filled with smiles and contentment.
A sensitive child properly nurtured will unleash upon the world such a full measure of love, affection, kindness and a dedication to truth and the pursuit of excellence in all things – that will blow us all away. What a gift this child has within himself! Just the very fact that you acknowledge your child’s sensitive heart and cherish it with great value, is a deep solace to him. I know you will draw out the gems from within him with your kind understanding and your own sensitive heart. Give him a big hug from me! And big love to you! Sharon x
One big hug coming up! Thank you Sharon for adding value to my son’s life, he is indeed a sensitive and loving soul who gets upset with the injustices of the world and sometimes can’t come to terms with the meanness around him. I am very proud to be his mother for he loves big and loves freely even when adults can be so insensitive with their remarks. I never want him to lose this sensitive quality. As you know in Asian culture, boys are brought up to be strong and stoic, but I have seen my son crumble under this type of pressure and so now I realise his soul has been hurting and I am working with him to restore what has been damaged. I thank you so much for writing these thoughtful words. Warmest love from Malaysia, Gina.
Such a good reminder for a mother of a tender hearted son. I will share it with him. So often tenderheartedness is judged as a weakness. I love how you shine the light on what a strength it actually is to be tender and compassionate.
We live in such a masculine world where force, dominance and aggression have always been prized and considered as strength. How truly precious to nurture in our young ones the strength of tenderness, gentleness and soulful insight. I have a son and I so value his nurturing, gentle ways. Your son sounds like a wonderful boy! We need more men in the world who have tender hearts! Sending you so much love and a big hug! You are such a wonderful momma x
I couldn’t agree more. Thank you. Love and hugs to you and you are doing a great job being the best mama you possibly can.
Hugs!
Thank you for the beauty of your words and photo…
Dear Mother Hen, thank you for reaching out to me and sending kindness all the way to my heart. Sharon
Lovely Sharon! This is just so beautiful, I read it aloud and it was just so beautiful to read.
Dear Sharon,I don’t know how to thank you because I have always taken my emotions and sensitivity as a source of problems. And now your fresh look to this theme gave me a strength and understanding that it is a real treasure and not everybody has it. Thank you. My warmest wishes from still snowy but sunny Murmansk! Tanja
Dearest Tanja, I know exactly what you mean! It’s taken me such a long time to give myself permission to embrace my sensitivity as something good. Something beautiful. Something precious. Something given by God. I hope you will become a true friend to your sensitive soul. Protect it and nurture it well. That from it will flow gems of inestimable value my dear friend! Love, Sharon x
Absolutely beautiful Sharon!!
Hugs my dear Caren! x
😀
This took my breath away. Thank you. I felt this in every corner of my soul
Dearest Brenda, I knew you would feel it deep! You soul shimmers. Hugs, Sharon

Beautiful post, Sharon!
Feeling the love Lavinia all the way from Salmon Brooks Farm! x
Sharon, from one sensitive soul to another, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you. As the child who was always told I was “too sensitive”, it never felt like a gift, but somehow I protected and cherished it anyway. Your lovely words echo right through me and of course, you are right. It’s what gives me – and you – and so many others – the strength to “be” in this world, to try and make it a better place. Many loving, rocking back and forth, happy tearful hugs to you. Jeanne
My dearest Jeanne, you were in my thoughts the whole weekend! I apologise I couldn’t get back to you earlier. I am so glad that you protected the essence of who you are. And because of that you make this world at ease in your presence. The animals and little children who are drawn to that soft, gentle space in your heart. Your ability to discern no matter how vague. Your quiet intuition which guides you towards the right path. Sometimes, we lose our way for a bit because we were told to abandon what was true and right by those who didn’t know better. But then, we find our way back. Richer. Deeper. Fuller. You are my beautiful friend and I am so proud of your journey. Hugs back from the other sensitive one. Sharon
Thank you 🙂 This was beautiful.
Thank you Ashley! So very wonderful to have you here! Hugs, Sharon
Thank you Sharon. It is so important to recognize and support the sensitive, good souls who wander among us, and to remember: “It will turn kindness into deep throbbing compassion. Anger into justice. Truth into fearlessness.” –Curt
Dear Curt, I have always only sensed kindness from you. And it has meant so much to me all these years! Thank you. Sharon

Beautiful, Sharon…it is piercing.
Your writings and thoughts have always come from a deep sacred place Virgilio. Thank you. Sharon
That’s encouraging, Sharon. Big thanks.
I love this excerpt you shared. So me. And what you wrote, but as I always say your words really make me think! I think I was always a person almost chastised for being sensitive, emotional and just feeling. My husband always laughs because I cannot watch things gorrie because I can just imagine it all too well without those visual stimuli. Words and sound is enough. Lovely how you are able to capture these issues in words.
