Lessons from my backyard
Drip by drip, winter quietly surrenders to a fresh new season.
And just as in all of life, there are lessons to be learnt from the world all around us if we but pause a while to see. Nature is often a reflection of the truest attributes of man. I was studying the ever-transforming still life just out in my own yard. I thought each of these shots speak of a quality which is a part of every living creature – how much more to be cultivated in a single human heart. I wish you all these and more!
Steadfastness.
Illumination.
Tranquility.
Gentleness.
Contentment.
Endurance.
Undisturbed peace.
Life.
Light.
Purity.
Detachment.
Patience.

Spring comes in baby-steps in Finland! 😀 Enjoy your beautiful blooms!
Hi-
Yesterday I mowed the lawn for the SECOND time in two weeks! Too early for all this yard activity. Some day I hope to see Finland.
Really great pictures!
Hello Dan! So good of you to visit! Thank you!

You’ve got an eye and a mind must say!The rest of us, well maybe we don’t use them much!Beautiful interpretation, keep on coming with more…….
I was simply captivated by the beauty of the ice-formations and the wealth of beauty even in the most common of places!
Brilliant! I love the creative impulse in this post… 🙂
It was just pure pleasure for me to study and capture these amazing works of ice on the patio! Thank you for your kind support Elizabeth!
you speak just as beautifully with your pictures as with your words 🙂
Hello my dear Sweets…thank you, that means so much…
These other comments have already said what I was about to say! Your images and their titles are my morning meditation on this beautiful sunny day in London. GF
I looked at the photos on my phone earlier this morning. Seeing them on a bigger screen now I can see they have an amazing 3D quality. Beautiful.
Dear Gary, your words of encouragement never fail to give me wings. I’m so happy if the photos and words were a source of quiet meditation. Watching these exquisite ice-encrusted jewels was a reward in itself. What a beautiful world we live in – right in our own backyard! Have a wonderful day!
Amazing pictures!! The ones that resonance most with me is tranquility, probably cos I’m in dire need of it.
Hey thank you dear girl! It helps to spend even just 5 minutes a day to close your eyes and breathe deeply and just keep focusing on the breathing. If all else fails, ask Sharon Tan to cook her famous chap chai boey for you! 😀 Take care lovely!
I hope that you are selling these! You could make some real moolah (mulah? mewlah?) with these pics. Gorgeous as always.
I’ll take mewlah!! 😀 Thank you I feel like a million bucks already!!
Have a fabulous weekend sweet girl!
I love all those pictures. Tranquility and natural beauty is emanating from each one. 🙂
Hello Francis and welcome to my world 😀 I’m so glad the pictures speak to you. It was sheer joy for me to just gaze at how spectacular melting ice could be! Hugs, Sharon

Hello Maheen and a warm welcome!!! This is the first time I’m connected to a blogger from Pakistan and it’s a very special thing. We lived in Kabul three years ago and I used to read The Dawn newspaper! I have always since then been fascinated with Pakistan. Thank you for stopping by!
Beautiful images you’ve captured. It snowed here in Afghanistan for maybe half a day since I’ve been here so I didn’t get to appreciate it as much. The rest of the time it’s been unpredictable ranging from cold one day to warm the next lol. Thank you for sharing.
Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing this!
Never seen the snow. But amazed by the pictures you are showing here. I’m imagining how strong the grass below the ice cap are .

Dear Shaz, I came back looking for any new posts but of course it is still summer in Finland. I am wishing you and your beloved family wonderful times!
These images are so cooling to behold their precious beauty during these hot days of August and remember to celebrate the cycles that brings all things around and around. I cherish the present moment, and embrace the future seasons as well.
Missing you but enjoying re-reading all your wise and wonderful posts.
With love and hugs, Gina
PS: I ended up writing 3 posts about horses after your beautifully loving comment to me a few months ago. If you do have time to visit, know that ‘Do Good As A Horse Runs’ was inspired by you, dear one. Thank you for that 🙂
